Specifications and Details
This is a reverse lookup search tool for demon fusion in Shin Megami Tensei I. When you specify a demon, it will display all fusion patterns (recipes) that result in that particular demon.
Due to nearly half of the fusion outcomes in 3-way fusion resulting in Slime, the number of recipes becomes immense. Only 2-way fusion recipes for Slime are displayed.
While SMT II and later versions focused on simulating skill inheritance, SMT I does not feature skill inheritance at all.
The verification environment used a save data with a high-level protagonist, hence the reference to the PS version. I plan to play the Switch version and may retest it for confirmation.
Fusion Rules and Considerations
Information regarding fusion rules has been consolidated into separate pages for 2-way fusion and 3-way fusion rules.
However, the rules are so complex that I cannot confidently claim to have thoroughly researched them.
There is an infinite possibility of oversights during the research phase, as well as potential bugs during program implementation.
During the actual investigation of 3-way fusion, bugs in 2-way fusion were discovered, and during the final check of 3-way fusion, multiple bugs were identified. Therefore, I lack confidence in the accuracy of the findings.
I will continue to address and rectify any issues found, so your understanding is appreciated.
How to Play Shin Megami Tensei I Now?
It's quite accessible to play.
As of July 15, 2020, Shin Megami Tensei I has been added to Nintendo Switch Online's "Family Computer & Super Famicom" collection. This means you can play it if you have a Nintendo Switch. Additionally, SMT II and SMT if are also available.
If you prefer a portable option, you can purchase it for ¥1,047 on the Vita (or PS3 + PSP) through the store. Moreover, it seems to be available on Nintendo's Virtual Console, so if you have a Wii or Wii U, you can check there too.
While the Switch is a bit on the bulkier side, personally, I recommend the Vita. However, since it's discontinued, prices are now at a premium. If you're open to buying used, it seems you can find one starting from around ¥10,000.
